A World of Emotions, now in Athens, Greece.

Artalk Reviews and Books

Taking a moment to let anyone who is currently (traveling) in Greece know that the exhibition A World of Emotions: Ancient Greece, 700 BC – 200 AD will be on view in Athens at The Acropolis Museum through November 19, 2017.
If you didn’t have the chance to visit the exhibition at the Onassis Cultural Foundation in New York, this is another excellent opportunity. The exhibition showcases a compilation of breathtaking ancient Greek works focused around the theme of emotion. The sculptural works, in particular, are so vivid and expressive that the exhibition gives the feeling of witnessing an ancient Baroque. Each artifact is subtly grouped with others of its own niche, yet everything is connected by the general exhibition theme and will leave you feeling oddly energized as well as informed.
